Meet the Team

How we got started

The Nutrition Clinic for Digestive Health began in January 2012 as Balance Fitness and Nutrition. The business was built on a dream for a life of freedom and purpose. This dream was fueled by Jenny Askew’s Honda Accord, endless energy, and determination.

Jenny began building the company while working full-time at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She managed to fit in clients before work, after work, and even on Saturdays. Jenny drove all around the Atlanta area, seeing clients in their homes. As she worked with clients, it became clear that health is about more than calories and exercise.

Jenny began to discover how much diet quality matters, and how integral real food is to health. She became fascinated with the ability of food to solve health problems for so many of her clients. She then decided to pursue training in Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy.

During this time, her clientele began to build and her husband began to miss her (after all, she was never home). It became clear that it was time to dive into her private practice full time. In July of 2014, Jenny made the jump and opened a full-time office in Alpharetta, Georgia. The company has been going strong ever since and continues to grow and develop more each year.

In August of 2017, Jenny and her husband had their first child. Jenny hired contractors (former interns she trusted and dearly loved) to keep things running while she was on maternity leave. Upon returning from leave, Jenny decided to keep the contractors on staff. This allowed for a better work-life balance and further growth of the company.

Meet the team

What we offer our clients…

  • Our registered dietitians have over 25 years of combined experience working in the wellness industry.
  • The ability to work together from anywhere. Both in-office and virtual appointments are available.
  • A team approach for improved outcomes. We have multiple dietitians on staff, each bringing different specialties to the table. We meet each week as a team to consult on client cases, so even though you will be working with just one of us, you get the benefit of multiple dietitians working on your case.
  • An extensive network of additional healthcare practitioners. We are well established in the Atlanta area and have a close network of physicians, therapists, and dentists we work with on a regular basis. This is really nice for clients needing referrals for labs or additional consulting on cases.
  • Extensive experience using LEAP/MRT food sensitivity testing. Since we started using this testing in 2013, we’ve changed the lives of hundreds of people.
  • A holistic approach to health and wellness. Whether we are working with an individual or consulting for a large corporation, we are passionate about utilizing the principles of functional nutrition to help our clients achieve optimal wellness.

Taylor Moree, RD, LD  | Virtual Office Manager | Registered Dietitian |

Starting off as an intern in the summer of 2017, and hired soon after completing her registration exam, Taylor entered the world of dietetics practicing functional nutrition.

Taylor is a registered and licensed dietitian who uses a holistic approach when it comes to helping clients improve their health. Taylor’s holistic dietetic approach developed from her own struggle to become healthy.  In her early twenties, she found herself trying and failing to follow the “move more, eat less approach.”  She felt defeated and that something was wrong with her when she didn’t feel or look better following the low fat and low-calorie diets.

Only after discovering undiagnosed food sensitivities and Candida overgrowth was she able to finally heal her gut and in turn settle at a healthy weight by eating REAL foods.  Taylor knows that being healthy is not just about food! Her approach includes diving into your sleep habits, movement patterns, and social support. Taylor’s goal is to make it easier for you to overcome barriers to reach your goals and become happy, healthy, and strong in your body!

Taylor’s favorite part of counseling clients is being an investigator, helping you to identify the root cause of your disease, imbalance, or weight gain. Taylor’s authentic and enthusiastic approach coupled with a focus on sustainability will help you build lifestyle transitions and experience long-term results. You don’t have to go through this journey alone, Taylor has been in your shoes and is ready to help you get to your best self!

Since starting with us, Taylor moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family. We really wanted to keep her – so she now works with clients virtually, using our HIPPA compliant video conferencing system.
