You’re in the right place if you
- Have tried elimination diets on your own and are stuck eating only a handful of foods
- Many patients of our patients get their MRT Test results back and are actually able to eat more food in the strictest phase of our protocol than they had been allowing themselves before they started working with us
- Others get their test results back to find out they are actually really reactive to foods they eat everyday, making it easy to understand why they don’t feel well.
- Suspect food is playing a role in your chronic disease, but are having a hard time figuring out which foods are problematic
- Have been diagnosed with an autoimmune or inflammatory condition and can’t seem to find relief from your symptoms.
- Irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, sinusitis, and arthritis are a few examples}
- Are willing to give up any food (and alcohol) for at least two weeks.
- Want to embark on an elimination diet with support and guidance every step of the way!
Trying an elimination diet on your own can be a lonely and bumpy road
Sure, you may start to feel better…but are you sure you have correctly identified all the food(s) that were causing your problems? Do you feel better, but still not your best….even though you are only eating like five foods??
Or maybe you saw another health care practitioner, and they tested you for sensitivities or allergies…and all you left the office with was a piece of paper giving you a list of foods to avoid. So frustrating and stressful! What are you supposed to eat!?
And then there’s the social aspect…do you really want to try to explain to your friends that you don’t think you can eat the kale salad they’re serving because you’re convinced (well you’re pretty sure you’ve finally pin pointed the fact that)….KALE is causing your migraines! Or wait…maybe it was something in the dressing on the kale salad you ate last week that caused your migraine…
Since 2013, we’ve successfully guided hundreds of patients through elimination diets using LEAP MRT Testing.
LEAP MRT Testing is currently the most accurate food sensitivty test on the market. This is a blood test that tells you exactly what foods in your diet are causing inflammation. 170 foods and chemicals are tested. We create a personalized elimination diet based on the results of your blood work.
Here’s why we love LEAP MRT:
- MRT looks at both foods + chemicals – the chemical panel is really nice because it gives you “insider information” you wouldn’t otherwise have into foods that may cause problems, but aren’t necessarily reactive on your test panel. Wait…..what?? It’s true – you can react to a chemical in a food, and not the food itself on a testing panel. Chemicals a lot of times are a dose/response relationship. Meaning, the more of a chemical you consume (or that is tested), the more likely you are to react. An easy example is fructose – this naturally occurs in fruit. If you are reactive to fructose, maybe you can eat two fruits high in fructose and be okay, but if you eat three you start to experience an adverse reaction – (these can be different for everyone, but a reaction to frucutose is typically going to elicit a GI symptom – gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation – it really depends on the person).
The MRT chemical panel tests for chemicals that have been added to foods, and chemicals that naturally occur in foods.
- We work with you to LIBERALIZE your diet as much as possible! Say goodbye to the days of eating five foods that you “think make you feel okay…maybe” and get with us! We start this protocol by having you eat your least reactive foods for two weeks {we’ve crunched numbers with our client data, and typically, they feel 50% better…sometimes even more after just two weeks on this diet}, then we build back your diet using foods we know (using test results) still won’t cause a problem. You get to add one new food per day every day, monitoring for any reactions as you keep a food and symptom diary.
- We focus on what you CAN eat. As dietitians and true foodies, we’re are great at getting creative with limited ingredients. Plus, we’ve been doing this test for years, so we’ve worked with literally hundreds of sets of test results and are familiar with the foods and possibilities that can come with them. For example….if you can have rice, not only can you eat rice, but you can have rice noodles, rice cakes, rice milk, rice paper, and rice puffs (which can be used to make energy protein bites by the way).
- And perhaps, most importantly, the LEAP MRT Test is the most accurate form of testing available for non-IgE mediated food sensitivities. These reliable test results take the guesswork out of which foods or chemicals may be causing your symptoms and allow us to help you feel better faster.
